Mattia started his racing career at the age of 4, thanks to his dad who was an enduro rider and a great passionate about dirt bikes. Going to all his father’s races, Mattia became himself a great fan of two wheels. He started competing at 7 years old in regional races winning at once the 50cc Championship.
From 2010 he had taken part in the Italian Championship, winning 4 titles in Minicross and Minienduro. In 2015, despite being only 12 years old, he moved to the 125cc category gaining the experience needed to step up to his first European Championship in 2017. His first podium came quickly in one of the last races of the season.
That experience gave him the awareness of his talent to aim for the highest position. That’s exactly what happened! In the following years Mattia was always in the fight for the European title, achieving two second places in 2018 and 2020 and winning the title of 125cc European Champion in 2019. During that season he also became 125cc Junior World Champion, one of the most important results of his career. In 2018 he won the 125cc International Italian Championship and the 125cc Italian Championship and in 2019 and 2020 he won the MX2 Prestige Italian Championships.
In 2021 he participated as a Rookie in the MX2 World Championship, turning his childhood dream into a reality, being part of the RedBull KTM Factory De Carli Racing Team! During the season he conquered two overall wins and the red plate as Championship leader, which he ended in 4^ position overall. Together with his team mates Antonio Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino he won the Motocross of Nations in Mantova, becoming World Champion.
In 2022 he remained in the same team, but with the new colors of the official Gas Gas bike. During the season from the Sardinia GP he switched to the MXGP class. In 2023 he will run his first full season in the premier class with the same team.
