The KTM World

KTM was founded by partners Kronreif and Trunk-Enpolz in 1953. With this came the promise that any bike to roll off the production line at the Mattighofen factory in Austria is always READY TO RACE and, at the same time, KTM is also committed to pursuing the racing spirit of the original company that started as a modest workshop.

This READY TO RACE spirit is the mantra of the KTM Motorsport Department, which competes with its factory teams at the highest level of international competition in a range of motorcycle racing disciplines around the world.

Ready to Race

In 2019 KTM saw some changes but also more rapid progress for the MotoGP programme. Having four bikes on the grid and demanding test riders really speed things along and we troubled the front rows of the grid and made more top ten results to fulfil our goals for the season. There were more wins and exciting races in Moto2 and Moto3 and we can look to 2020 with a lot of optimism.

It was great to see the competitiveness of our U.S. set-up as they brought the Supercross title again to Mattighofen. Motocross MXGP did not go our way but our Grand Prix efforts were saved by dominance and surprises in the MX2 class.

In Enduro it has been a pleasure to watch the development of our riders and in Rally we gained the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship to go with another amazing year at the Dakar.
